Birchfield Harriers will have four representatives at the Toyko Olympics. With two of the four going to their second Olympic Games and two becoming an Olympian for the first time this will take the number of our Olympic representatives to 97 and over 100 with Paralympians.

Elliot Giles (800m) will be looking for a medal in what promises to be a top class event based on the times run in the Diamond League in recent weeks. Meghan Beesely will be at her first Olympics and the 400m hurdles is also a very strong event with some fast times being run in the USA trials and in Europe. Leon Reid will also become an Olympian as he represents Ireland in the 200m and finally Matthew Hudson-Smith, who unfortunately pulled up in the trials has been selected for the 4 x 400m relay, and this will be his second Olympics.

We wish them all every success as they continue the proud tradition of being a Birchfield Olympian.
