Birchfield had a number of young athletes representing thier county schools teams at the English Schools Championships, one of the top competions in the calender for U15s - U20s.
Charley O'Neil, representing Staffordshire, was our most successful athlete winning the inter girls pole vault. A big congratulations to Charley and her coaching team of Adam and Lizzie Lyons.
Ella Woods, representing Hereford and Worcester, was the junior girls champion in the long jump last year and despite moving up to inter girls this year she was on the podium once again taking the silver medal.
In the West Midlands team Precious Akye-Moses and Grace Wright were part of the 4 x 100m relay team who took the silver medal.
Charley and Ella will now go on to represent England in SIAB Schools Track & Field International to be held at the Mary Peters Stadium in Belfast on Saturday. We wish them all the best for what will be a tough competiton against the best of the home nations young athletes.
