Birchfield was not highly represented at the Midlands Championships but those that were able to compete brought home plenty of medals.
Star of the weekend was Findlay White who won both the U17 800m and 1500m titles. He has had an excellent season this year improving greatly across all distances. Also in the medals in ths U17 age group were Sophia Deans taking gold in the 80m hurdles, Christian Chapajong bronze in the 400m and Abigail Rickard, who had a very busy weekend competing in a number of events, with a bronze in the long jump.
There were also gold medals in the U15 age group. Ash Burgess cruised to a win in the 3000m, Jayden Allen-Bramble took the 80m hurdles title and Alex Sethi won the pole vault. Ella Woods took the long jump title to make it three championships in a row after winning English Schools and the England Athletics U15 championships in this event.
Congratulations to all the medal winners and all those who took part and did themselves proud.
