BUCS Championships

The ladies led the way at the BUCS championships in Sheffield with both Adele Nicoll and Bryony Gunn taking top spot on the podium to become British Universities Champion.

Adele Nicoll dominated the shot with all her throws over 15m and her best of 15.76m for more than enough to secure her another BUCS title. Bryony Gunn was a track champion in the 3000m. After a strong performance in the heat to take the win she then went one better by running much quicker in the final and her time of 9.50.8 ensured she was the gold medalist, her first BUCS title.

Leading off for the men was Jake Porter in the 60m hurdles on the first day of the event. The final was a very scrappy affair with false starts and fallers but Jake came through to take the silver medal. His training partner Jack Lawrence was not to be outdone and with an excellent personal best in the 60m final of 6.77 seconds he also brought home the silver medal.

Muller Grand Prix Glasgow

This event was moved to Glasgow in 2020 from the NIA in Birmingham. A number of our athletes were on show and continuing her excellent form this season was Beth Partridge who, in a high class field, was second in the high jump with her best jump of 1.90m. She is now consistently jumping 1.90m and above and getting closer to the Olympic standard.

Elsewhere, Elliot Giles was fifth in a strong 800m field with a season's best time of 1.47.40 and Heather Paton,  in her first event at this level,  acquitted herself well in the 60m hurdles.
