Our senior team was in action in the National Athletics League in Woodford Green and despite the long journey it was a good turn out from the athletes.

After some disappointing results recently the team really pulled together and finished in second place in the day which ensured they qualified for the A final in Bedford in August.

Some of the highlights were the excellent performances by Adele Nicoll who won both the shot and the discus. Leon Reid back after a short break due to injury ran a strong 200m in blustery conditions.

William Ritchie- Moulin took first place in the A 110m hurdles and in the B 400m hurdles and a strong 4 x 100 team took the win in that event. After so much disruption it was good to see the team getting back to its' best and we look forward to contending for the title next year.

Thanks go to Dave and Seemita for their team management this year and to all the officials who travelled.

YDL

Sunday was the turn of our youngest track athletes in the YDL Lower at Solihull. A good performance was needed for the team to qualify for the regional final and they did not disappont.

Noah Homer set yet another club record when improving his pb in the 800m although fininshed in second place behind a strong athlete from Rugby and Northampton. Jaydon Allen-Bramble had an excellent day with pb in the long jump, high jump the the hurdles. It was a very close race in the girls U13 800m race with Trinity Conway finishing in second only one tenth of a second behind the winner. Oliver Cresswell marked his Englisch Schools selection with a big pb in winning the U15 800m.

The sprints showed the talent of some of our young athletes with Torre Chalmers and Rhy-Lee Lancaster both winning the U13 100m. The girls also had a good day in the 75m with Eboni Barnes-Foster in second and Haven Thomas in first place in the B race, both girls running personal bests.

These were just some of the many highlights and full results can be found here The team finished in second place overall and qualified for the regional final. Congratulations to all those who competed and to team managers Laura and Rocky. Finally thanks to all the officials who make these events possible, and to all the coaches for their hard work and the parents who support the team.
