English Schools 2021

The English Schools Championship was held in Manchester this year with the top athletes in each events invited to compete. We had representation across a number of counties and those that did compete performed very well.

On the first day it was the turn of the Senior age group, which is our U20s. There was much success from this group led by gold medalist in the high Jump Sam Brereton. Rhianna Burrell followed her recent Birtish Championship performance with a silver in the senior girls high jump and Tobie Watson secured a bronze in the 400m hurdles. Just out of the medals was Sharlene McIntosh-Walcott sixth in the 100m and Muslim Habib was also sixth in the senior boys 100m

The final day saw the junior competition in her first year competing at this level Ella Woods jumped 5.75m which was a 12cm pb. This performance has also put Ella as number one on Power of 10 rankings for U15 girls long jump.

It was a good championship for our young athletes and they all have a bright future in the sport.
