In a very windy Manchester there were some excellent performances from our seniors to bring home five medals from the Muller British Championships.

The Muller British Championships and World Trials was held in Manchester last weekend and many of seniors were in action.

Starting off with a bang Matthew Hudson-Smith easily won his heat on Friday and was also joined in the final by team mate Rio Mitcham who ran a pb in winning his heat. The final was on Saturday afternoon and Matthew did not disappoint winning in a time of 44.92. Rio Mitcham joined him on the podium with a great performance to finish third running another personal best of 46.22.

Not to be outdone and celebrating her selection for the Commonwealth Games Adele Nicoll has a fantastic competition in the shot taking the title for the first time. She threw a massive pb of 17.59m and beat a quailty field to become British Champion. Adele is having an amazing year winning world cup medals in the winter as part of the GB Bobsleigh team and now becoming British Champion in the shot.

Sineade Gutzmore was next up in the triple jump. Having very few competitions this year Sineade was delighted with her silver medal and it was great to see getting back to her best.

Emma Hamplett has been on the podium many times in the javelin and continued this success with a bronze medal in 2022.

Elsewhere it was good to see Jake Porter make the final in the 110mh and Elliot Giles left nothing behind in his quest to defend his 800m title, but only 3 weeks of training after an injury put paid to that. He will no doubt be in mcuh better shape at the Commonwealth Games when he has been able to train more.
