Adele Nicoll has been selected for her first major multi-sport championship as part of the Welsh team at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Adele has been a Birchfield Harrier for 10 years and has represented the Club in all age group competitions and is now part of the senior women's team. Originally she was a multi eventer but she realised that her talent lay in the throwing events so she turned her focus to the shot and discus and is now one of the leading women in the shot put in the UK.
In addition to her success in the field, in 2022 she was part of the GB & NI team at the Winter Olympics, having trained and competed in the bobsleigh team. She has credited the training in this event to some of her improvement over the last two years.
It will be great to see Adele competing in her home stadium and we wish her every success at the Commonwealth Games.
